Coach Barrett has graduated 10 players since his arrival at Auburn Riverside in 2003.
The alumni players have been a huge part in establishing a foundation in which players, coaches, school, family and community
can all be proud of. It is our hope that we continue to graduate 100 % of our players. We wish them all continued
success as they pursue other goals and dreams beyond high school. Thank you Riverside Alumni.
Class of 2004 Marian Franklin, played basketball at Green River CC, now attending E. Washington
Univ. Christine Moore, playing soccer at Eastern Washington University Ashley Naglich, played basketball and attended
Green River CC
* This class went 12-4 in the first year under Coach Barrett. This group of seniors will always
be remembered as the class who built the Tradition of Riverside Basketball. Heart, Intensity, and Passion were the words
to describe what these three players thought the program needed. The most memorable experience was playing one of the
all time great teams on the West Coast, Oregon City. AR finished a school's best 3rd in the league and went
on and played 2 games at West Central District. Overall Record 12-11
Class
of 2005 Rylee Denbo, played basketball 1 year at Central Washington and transferred to play at Highline
CC Amanda Gius, running track at Central Washington University Ashley Misocky, attending Washington State University
* Led by Rylee Denbo, this team finished 2nd in league with a 13-3 record and placed 4th at West Central Districts
thanks to an incredible steal with 7 seconds left from Amanda Gius and a Julie Futch finish at the other end to upset
Lincoln by 1 in the quarterfinals. They went to state for the first time in school history. They opened
up with the #4 ranked team in the state, Meadowdale. It was Katie Grad hitting 7 free throws down the stretch and in
overtime to advance to play #2 Garfield in the second round. With 4 minutes to go it was a 4 point game until Garfield
turned it up and went on to beat Riverside. They then went on and lost to Prairie in the 3rd round. Overall Record:
19-9.
Class of 2006 Julie Futch,
playing basketball at Oregon State University Jaki Fairfield, attending Western Washington University Corinna Quam,
playing soccer at Dominican, CA and will play basketball this coming seaon
* Julie Futch came up short her junior
year of playing for a state title and made it her goal to get her team to the state championship. Futch lifted her team
to a 17-1 league record, giving Auburn Riverside it's first ever league championship. This time it was Lincoln who
beat Auburn Riverside at West Central Distict on a foul called from the deep corner with no time on the clock.
One official waved it off while the other one gave the player 2 shots. She hit her first free-throw for the win.
Auburn Riverside went to state and opened up with Lake Stevens, a #1 seed from the Wesco. AR beat Lake Stevens.
Up next was Eisenhowser. That game went back and forth but in the end it was to much AR. Semi-final match between
Lewis and Clark and AR. LC was led by All-American Heather Bowman and advanced past AR to the finals. AR ended
up losing in the 3rd place game on another last second foul. This time it was Angie Bjorkland (U of Tennessee), one
of the finest and most humble players you will ever meet. Riverside brought home their first ever State Trophy ... 6th
place. Overall Record: 22-7
Class of 2007 Stephanie Wilber, playing basketball at Arizona State University
Can you say 2007 State Champs and 2007 State
Player of the Year? Yes, Auburn Riverside was on the winning side of a state title by upseating an incredible Chief
Sealth team. Before an crowd of 8,500, Auburn Riverside hoisted their first ever state championship on March 10, 2007
(RT2 310). Captains Stephanie Wilber and Katie Grad came up with a saying at the beginning of the year, of which noone
knew about. Rt2 310, which meant run the table March 10 (meaning we would be state champs). That saying came true.
Led by the State Player of the Year, Wilber put up 16 points and 8 rebounds in her last high school game. Missing 9
games of the regular season due to a foot injury, Wilber placed the workload on jr. Katie Grad. Those two went on to
be Co-MVP's of the league and bringing Riverside back to back League Championships. They also went on to win their
first ever West Central District Championship. League Record: 14-0. Overall Record: 27-2.
