Quick Facts: 3 years varsity, 4.0 GPA, 4 years on ASB
Personal: Stephanie Egwuatu was born August 6, 1990 in the state of Washington.
Stephanie is the daughter of newly remarried Fred and Florence Egwuatu, graduates of Central Washington University.
She has an older sister Patricia attending University of Washington.
She also has two younger brothers still at home; Emeka and Chike.
Life as
a Raven: Stephanie was one of 6 incoming freshman 3 years ago who made it on varsity and helped
take this school to it’s first ever state tournament birth. The first two years were tough for the
future PSU Forward. Hip injuries held her back from becoming the player she wanted to be. After
sitting out for 4 months after her sophomore year, she recovered from her hip injury and started to make tremendous progress.
She played her best this past summer in the Chicago Nike Classic and proved to be one of the top posts in the state
of Washington.
Future: The future looks bright for Stephanie Egwuatu as
she committed to Portland State last Spring. Coach Charity Elliot was the head coach and has since moved
on to take another job down in California. The former WSU coach, Sherri Murrell is now the head coach at
PSU and is excited to get Stephanie on campus. She takes her official visit Sept. 14-16. The
PSU bound Forward will sign her letter of intent this coming November.
2007-2008 Outlook: Being 1 of 6 seniors, Stephanie is bound and determined to graduate with two state championship rings.
She is working harder than she ever has this Fall as she knows she has to be a major force inside with the absence
of Stephanie Wilber. Stephanie is excited to be a part of a team who has the same goal: another state championship.
