At 7:38 AM, Katie Grad and Stephanie Egwuatu signed their National Letters of Intent to
play for Washington State and Portland State. Katie Grad will be heading East to be a WSU Cougar. Head
Coach June Daugherty is taking over for the new PSU coach Sherri Murrill. Katie Grad will be one of about 7 who will
be Coach Daugherty's first signing class at WSU. Grad is a 5'8 guard who plays bigger than she is. She
has developed a 3 point shot to go along with her defensive intensity. She has to be one of the toughest kids in the
state of Washington.
Stephanie Egwuatu will be headed south to become a Portland State Viking. Head
Coach Sherri Murrill enters her first year as the Head Coach at PSU. Stephanie fell in love with the campus and her
future teammates while on an unofficial visit last spring. During her official visit last month, she knew that playing
for Coach Murrill was the right decision. Stephanie Egwuatu will have to replace the former State Player of
the Year (Stephanie Wilber, now at ASU) as an inside threat. She looks to bring that rebounding mentality
this season and prove why she is one of the best post players in the state.
Both players will have their signing
party tonight, Wednesday, November 14th, at 7:00 pm here at the Auburn Riverside Library.
